Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs)
An EAP, or employee assistance program, is a confidential, short term counselling service for employees who are struggling with personal problems that affect their work performance. Many programs include counseling services for marital and family issues, drug, alcohol and gambling addictions and financial/budgeting bankruptcy support. EAPs are usually part of a benefit package that promotes the wellbeing of the whole person.
